This boy was young, he was empty, didn’t know what he felt
But he rolled with the changes, played the cards he was dealt
And the crowd, they would holler, said soon he would find
That his life would be easy without changing his mind

Oh, the streets he would walk would be covered with paint
And the things people told him to love and to hate
And because he was scared he would get left behind
He just kept his head down without changing his mind

So he tried to be good, walk the line, no mistakes
But soon everything hurt, and he thought he would break
It seemed none would catch all the tears that he cried
So he promised himself to start changing his mind

Oh, the people on top, they are played by the fools
For no sense of corruption ever played by the rules
This boy knew one day he would have to decide
If it’s worth living without changing your mind

He grew up and soon thought there was much more to life
Than to get a good job, have a family and a wife
So he started to dream, those dreams undefined
‘Cuz slowly, but surely, he was changing his mind

Now his eyes, they were open and his head was so clear
Whatever came from his lips didn’t sound insincere
He was able to see, he was no longer blind
It’s funny that happens when you’re changing your mind
It’s funny that happens when you’re changing your mind
It’s funny that happens when you’re changing your mind
